PLA 3D printing materials based on potato starch comes out

Recently, Biome Plastics, a company from Ireland that developed a kind of Bioplastics made with potato starch, and 3D printer made from wire Biome3D.
As a leading developer of emerging areas of Bioplastics technology, Biome3D and Biome Plastics has so far been committed to the development of a series of ground-breaking bioplastic products, such as biodegradable packaging coffee packages and use of Bioplastics in the 3D printing industry. Biome Bioplastics is also committed to developing high-performance plantbased plastics in various aspects of the application, from the diet until the electronic products. The company says their goal is to challenge at the top of the market status of the oilbased plastic.
The company said its biodegradable coffee package is valued at $ 6.6 billion global packaging coffee on the market, a sustainable packaging alternatives. The company added that each year in the United States have 91 individually packaged coffee and drink boxes is poured into a landfill. These new coffee is made from plant starch and made of wood byproducts. Biome goal now is to make use of its own technology in 3D printing on the wire.
Today, the Biome Bioplastics have partnership with NatureWorks company offers a series of PLA PLA made from corn fiber wire. The two companies said their product development is entering the next phase.
Biome said, based on potato starch Biome3D wire combines excellent surface finish and flexibility, are easy to handle and have excellent print details. Biome3D wire of other advantages including, can support higher print speeds and less brittle than ordinary PLA.
Evaluation from Flashgamer.com say, Biome3D wire one of the main advantages is that it has properties similar to ABS but more flexible. The review says, this kind of materials with very high strength, though not even a PET, and noted that its application requires some bending of the far more useful than cornbased PLA wire. As shown in the following figure, which occurs in the nozzle, may have collected at the bottom, but eventually agreed out of 3D objects is quite good.
Biome3D wire 80-90 degrees Celsius when starting to soften, print the temperature is lower than most other materials. It can also be polished, because it has a high glass transition temperature, normal polishing it so you can use a variety of media.
